Ever since our inception in 1909 as the the Education of Young Women Association, we have been able to make a positive change in the lives of thousands of people and our community as a whole, All that thanks to contributors like your good selves and to the a group of visionary women led by Mrs. Eugenie T. SAAD.

As early as 1909 Mrs. Eugenie Saad saw that women literacy is key to improving family well being and a key strategy in reducing poverty. Allowing women to be active and productive members of the society, contributes to household and national income, a policy adopted decades later by UN agencies. 

Towards the 1950’s public policy in Lebanon allowed women into public schools, and education became at everyone’s reach. At that time led by Mrs. Laure Badoura, the association still saw its mission alive although practices had to be changed. Forever in the aim of supporting women, and allowing them to be productive members of their society, whose tradition and culture had always undermined them socially and economically, Dar al Hadana was inaugurated. 

Dar al Hadana allowed working mothers to go on with their productive lives by giving them the opportunity of placing their kids at relatively free of charge in a the fully equipped and staffed nursery offering toddlers education, play and love. It is a 200-m2 ground floor with backyard in the heart of Beirut, which can accommodate up to 50 kids on full time basis and an additional 20 for afterschool-assisted study.

There are many ways of donating to Dar al Hadana, we have been accustomed to receive contributions in cash or nature.
